Chad Hurly and Steve Chen the co founders of YouTube, Google Inc (NASDAQ: GOOG) bought YouTube from the pair for $1.65 billion. Now the two have launched MixBit, a video sharing app that will compete with Twitters Vine and Facebook Inc (NYSE: FB) Instagram. The app is being offered on Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) App Store and Google's Android market. MixBit allows users to post videos up to an hour length, unlike Vine's 6 second and Instagram's 15 seconds. It also give the users an unique ability to not only edit their videos but also other users. "We give people fun, intuitive tools to help them tell stories together, We think video should be a living, breathing entity and that creativity is a collaborative process. More than simply capturing brief moments in time, we help people bring stories to life." say's the company. I believe this will be a hit among video creators, Vine has picked up but this is a whole different level of video sharing and editing.
